MapleStory Quest

Privacy

What MapleStory Quest stores, what it sends, and what it deliberately does not collect.

There are no accounts and nothing to sign in to. The site is a set of static files: everything it keeps about you, it keeps in your own browser. Everything below is what the code in this repository actually does.

No analyticsNo cookiesNo advertisingNo database of visitorsNothing sold or shared

Where each thing ends up

Your browser only

Local storage and IndexedDB are not cookies: they are never attached to a request, so none of this leaves your machine on its own.

  • Your planner drafts · saved as you edit, so a closed tab does not lose the plan
  • Your hunt · your characters, their bags, quests and storage, in a database kept in this browser's IndexedDB
  • Progress ticks · on a guide, the quest tracker and the grind tracker
  • Small preferences · pinned menu rows, a dismissed tip

Sent to other hosts

Ordinary use means requests, and a request has to say what it is asking for.

  • The pages and files you open · to GitHub Pages, which serves the site, as with any website
  • The look of your planned character · to maplestory.io, which draws the figure on the planner
  • A video you press play on · to YouTube, only once you press it

What the site never does

No analytics

No analytics script, no tag manager, no pixel, no session recording, no fingerprinting, and no count of visits of its own. Nothing on a page reports back what you read.

No accounts

There is nothing to sign up for and no password to keep. A draft lives in the browser that made it; the share link carries a whole build to anyone you send it to, and nothing is stored about it.

No cookies

The site sets none. What it remembers, it writes to your browser’s local storage, which never travels with a request. Clearing the site’s data in your browser forgets all of it.

Nothing sold or shared

There is nothing collected to sell, and nothing goes to a data broker, an advertiser or anyone else.

Who serves the site

GitHub Pages serves the files, and the domain may sit behind Cloudflare. Like any host, they see the requests a browser makes for a page and may keep logs of them under their own policies. The site itself receives nothing.

Third parties, and when

maplestory.io, which draws the planner’s character from the ids of what it wears. YouTube, on the two Nexon clips about the Founder’s Packages: a picture served from here with a play button on it, so nothing is fetched from YouTube unless you press it. And for Nexon’s MapleStory Fest stream, on 17 October 2026 from 10:45 AM to 5:25 PM PDT (a quarter of an hour before it starts to half an hour after it is due to end), the front page and the news page carry its Twitch and YouTube players, muted, which load from Twitch and from YouTube’s no-cookie host when the page opens. They come off both pages when that window closes.

Telling us about a mistake

Reports go to the project’s issues on GitHub, which are public and subject to GitHub’s own policies. Nothing about a report passes through this site.
